James 4:8a says
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you
We need a close relationship with God in order to have a joyful meaningful life. Yes, we know Him – yes, we accept Him in our heart but we then need to seek Him daily. Just as food helps our bodies, so our daily quiet time with our Savior feeds and nourishes our souls. Significant growth is impossible without it.
On top of that – the Lord desires our fellowship and our personal worship. I am not flawless – I miss my devotionals from time to time as many do but the point here is this – our daily time with Him is needed – it is required – it is life sustaining.
Draw near to God and He WILL draw near to you!! Daily devotionals are NOT optional. Don’t live like they are, don’t lead others to think they are.
